I'm back in a dress phase again and can't seem to get enough of them! I think it's the (relative) ease of something that's one piece, a put it on and go sort of mentality. Or maybe I'm just lazy. Whatever, it's working really well for me so I'm going to keep going with it...
I could practically sleep in this Bordeaux dress! It's super soft (and the rusching at the sides helps hide a few tummy sins.) However, I'm not quite sure what to make of the color. I guess it looks grayish in the photo but in person it sort of has a purple/blue undertone. But a bonus for the dolman sleeves, zero sweat stains in the heat. Sorry if that's TMI, but it's already been into the 90's here!
I did however, decide to switch out necklaces right before I left the house today (I tend to get in a rut,) and I wore this one from Debbie Carrol instead...
And as much as I intended to wear these heels today,
it just felt too much like a workout and they came off in about 4 hours. Sundays just weren't made for working out. Or mowing the lawn...or cleaning the garage...
Anyway, maybe (probably) more dresses to come.

Closet Staples
The plaid shirt and orange Maggie London dress are staples in my closet...
In fact, they are such old staples that I found a hole in the armpit of the shirt, of course after I'd already gotten to work. (In central Texas you can go just about anywhere in a shirt with pearl snaps.) Why I've never paired it with this dress before today is a mystery to me. (The bf would remind me that blue and orange are complimentary colors and will always work together.) Perhaps it's the boots, a recent acquisition, that pulls it all together for me...
Originally they had red and brown laces in them (you can sort of see the holes,) but I liked them much more after I took them out...especially since they were only about $20 on super sale! Hmmm...is it true that the shoes make the outfit?

An Intimate Talk
Due to incidents like this...
(Note bra peeking out at the side,) a strapless nude bra has been on my wish (needs) list for a while now and was recently tipped off by a co-worker to this little number from Target of all places...
It's not very sexy or anything and I know we've all tried the sticky bras and have spent a fair amount of money on them too but I have to say, this is the best one so far. It's not the "chicken cutlet" style that adds 2 or more extra cup sizes, (which Target has as well,) in fact all it does is cover the necessary parts without any straps, (bonus, it's backless as well!) It's exactly what I wanted and it was only $16.99!
Yesterday was the first time I tried it out for an extended period of time and it held up quite nicely. It didn't slip or slide around even when I got a little sweaty, it didn't give me any type of skin irritation (I'm one of those people who are allergic to everything,) and it gave me some nice little curves as well. My co-worker said she's washed hers several times and it's just as sticky as the day she bought it.
I'm hoping it will hold up through the upcoming Texas summer...that will be the real test!

In My Closet-High/Low Hemline
I'm always looking for something interesting to put on my bottom half and I'm loving the high/low (or "mullet") hemline trend this spring. It's still modern and clean and depending on the fabric it can also be romantic. Like this one...
I fell hard for this one! The color is a very sugary pastel aqua and I adore how it floats behind me when I walk. Of course this also happens to be something completely different for my closet and I had to play with it a little, but I love it paired with this royal blue tee I recently picked up from Zara. (The tee itself has a very cool back but I didn't take a picture this time around...next time.)
I would love to find a great sandal to wear with this skirt for summer and I have yet to find something I really like..Any suggestions?
