Thinking About Adding to My Closet - Asymmetrical Dresses

The New Year has me crazy (in a lot of good ways!) and it's been a while since I've had the opportunity to post, so please forgive me.

Anyway, the Texas weather has been crazy...we even had snow on Xmas Eve...which has required a lot of creative layering. I have no problems with wearing all my favorite items at once, but I'm starting to long for dress weather to return! Actually, for no reason in particular, I've been attracted to asymmetrical cut dresses, which used to just drive me insane! It just looked so wrong to my eye.

But this morning while I was sifting through the Bergdorf Goodman site (that's where all the photos are from,) these lovely dresses caught my eye and I think I could be happy with any of them in my closet...

This Alice and Olivia number would be perfect right now...it shows off a little skin at the shoulder, but the fuller skirt would hide those extra holiday pounds. With a pair of tall over the knee boots and bright red lipstick, it could be so fun!

If asymmetrical always looked as good as this Lanvin dress does, then I probably would have never had a problem with it in the first place! It could be pulled off for so many occasions! A strappy, sparkled sandal would take this to a wedding but imagine it with a thick platform pump for the office! (If you happen to work in such a stylish place...)

And what can be said for this sexy Rachel Roy? I love the thick pleated shoulder and it could be so glamorously retro with a vintage fur (faux or otherwise,) thrown over it. HOT!

Well I guess I'll be waiting (in the rain today) for dress weather and enjoy the layers while I still can because I know soon enough that I'll be praying for winter to come back!

Michael Kors Black Sequin Tunic

Ok, ok, I know I really can't be spending money, but this was exactly what I was looking for. It was just my size and it may be the steal of the summer. It's this Michael Kors black sequin tunic and it was only $10!

It's quite a markdown from its original price of $199.50! I guess it was my lucky shopping day. The sales girl remarked that she purchased one as well, then added (a little bitterly) that she didn't get hers at this price. Sorry!

I have been lusting after this one from Proenza Schouler for a while but it's really really not in my price range.

I love how light makes it look metallic!

And this one by See By Chloe has great drapey sleeves which I love!

I'm not sure if I like the shorter length but but I certainly wouldn't kick it out of my closet!

I've played around with mine a little bit but haven't worn it out yet, it's still a little warm for the Texas weather. But cooler evenings are on their way and I can't wait!

Sequins takes me back to my dance costume days, except now it's all grown up and even though I'd be tempted, I won't be wearing it with tap shoes. It's a no brainer with jeans and I bet I can find a few dresses layer it over. Heck, even if I wear it once, I've gotten my $$ worth!

Stella McCartney at Bergdorf Goodman

It's rare when I come across a collection of which I would wear every piece, but this one is special! I've just been checking out the Ready-To-Wear Stella McCartney collection at Bergdorf Goodman and I fell for the modern cuts, especially with the Dogtooth Coat.

Cool little collar, asymmetrical, and the perfect length makes this one of the best ones of the season! I could see it with jeans, dresses, skirts, everything else in my closet.

Blue and black together is one of my favorite color combos...so dark! Blue is a great shade for fall, but not typical. Think about it with boots and leggings...

Clean and simple, the way a Tshirt should be! Why can't all t's be this way?

Check out the rest of the collection here.
