Central Market

I went grocery shopping this weekend. It was a necessity. As much as I love eating, I really do not enjoy going to the store. I'm not a very good grocery shopper. Usually I come home with a whole lot of unedible items such as cleaning supplies, toilet paper, etc, you know what I mean. But this weekend I was persuaded to go to Central Market, which, as far as I can tell, is a Texas only store. I have to admit, this place I like! The displays are beautiful, they carry some unique items and the vegetables are so pretty...check it out...

Cauliflower, yellow cauliflower and broccoflower? I have never heard of the last two. But they were pretty!

Awww, so cute!

Fresh baked...mmm...need I say more?

I would love to collect strange, interesting looking beauty products and this place is a treasure trove of just that! How pretty is this packaging?

Cheese something...not sure what. (I need to pay more attention...)

Another interesting looking hair product, a coloring powder.

My favorite aisle- BULK CANDY! Yummy!

So pretty, right?

I have more pictures, but I'll bore you with them another time. It's snack time right now!

Strut

J4 and I went to one of my favorite local boutiques, Strut. This place is filled with daring up to date styles with incredible prices, and carry clothing shoes purses and accessories.

One of my favorite pieces went for about$18...

Though I didn't see the red bracelet, (these pictures came off their website www.shopstrut.com,) I did see it in cream and yellow and I couldn't decide between the two.

I liked the fact that most of the racks were color coordinated and they expanded upstairs into space that had once been occupied by a men's store so there were even more goodies to look at.

This one was on their black and white rack, but unfortunately not in my size.

J4 fell in love with the blue pair of these shoes which are more of a silk fabric than the photo shows. (In her own words, "I have an unnatural fondness for anything purple or blue.")

I myself found a dress with a very sexy low back that I can't wait to wear when the weather gets warmer, but you'll have to wait until I post it. (See? Already planning on the perfect setting!)

Unfortunately the website is not so good and maybe the store needs a tad bit of editing (or plan on spending some time) but I guarantee almost anyone can find something to their liking within a reasonable price range.

They have three locations here in Austin but the only one I've been to is on South Lamar. Maybe I can find my size at one of the other stores...

Sharing

I know women who are "fashion stingy." They hate to give out any of their favorite shoe stores, websites, hairdressers, for fear that more people may buy something similar or lose their weekly appointment because her manicurist has more clients, whatever. Once, I complemented a coworker on a pair of shoes (or something,) and asked where she had purchased them and I got a cool "I'd rather not say." Umm...okay.

Normally I am not that person. I love to give out names of cool local boutiques because I want them to stay in business even if it is only for my shopping benefits. But today I found a website that I wanted to keep all to myself. The prices are unbelievable and the shoe selection alone is would be enough. Do I give it up? Would my size be the first to sell out? Will it ruin a good thing? Then it dawned on me that I had found it in a magazine...it had been shared with probably thousands of women already.

So here, enjoy!

The look is young, but really, check out the shoes.

Mmm...shoes...
