I've been drooling over this Mod Waterfall Necklace made of Lucite created by the talented Mish Dish ever since she posted it on her blog here...

It's clean, it's modern, yet still has tons of sparkle, Lucite is an acrylic resin that dates back to the 40's. And Ms. Mish Dish has brilliantly paired it with an antique copper chain for a look that shouts glamour!
Then shortly there after, I came across this...

Designed by Alexis Bittar for Michael Kors this Lucite statement is perfect with the pastel shades that are ever so present this spring!
A Lucite necklace thus became the object of my obsession! Problem being that I'm currently only working part time and a good piece of the sparkly stuff is not in my budget. (FYI, after doing some research, the Mish Dish piece is a great bang for your buck and it can be purchased here along with some other gorgeous pieces.)
After thrifting high and low and sifting through a few department stores yesterday, at my last stop, (with the hope of coming across anything seeming fruitless) I was just about out the door when this caught my eye...
As soon as I reached for it, a vulture landed on my shoulder, waiting for me to put it down so it could be snatched away, but I was no fool! I grabbed it and headed to the check out.
I'm planning on wearing it tonight, (I'm having dinner at a friend's home,) but I'm not sure with what...we'll see!

I love it when all hope is lost and then at the last second you find what it is you've been searching high and low for, convinced you'll never find it! Congratulations, it's an awesome piece! You need to post a pic of you wearing it.
Cute necklace, hope you had a good night and a nice sunday today! xoxo
I love the fresh modern feel of these necklaces. Cute!
I love lucite, especially the bangles, but those necklaces are cool too.
♥
beautiful necklace. It looks like an accessory that Andersen's Snow Queen might wear :)
i love it, and i want one too!!!
I love lucite, will definately go check out that etsy shop! Well done at fending off the vultures!! x
I love the way the thrift gods work like that-- always answering your prayers, just not quite how you'd expect! I love that top necklace a lot (I like cascadey type things)-- it reminds me of one I saw at Anthropologie a while ago with the clear beads strung on vintage looking fabric. I want to see your necklace in action!!

Nice "I guess bigger is better" lol Clear items are always a tricky item to pull off, but with your style I'm pretty sure you can rock em' with ease.
P.s- HEY she even commented back SUCCESS! :-)
::Salutes::
Great find! Can't blame the vulture, but good for you for not letting her scare you off your awesome find!
