New Year, New Pants

Happy New Year everyone!
I always look forward to new starts and beginnings...although I tend to fail miserably at follow through.  So that being said, I have a bad habit of starting and ending things rather quickly.
And then starting again.
I really need to be on a schedule...I have a hard time with schedules...
Anyway, here's my first post of the year...

Isn't a cropped sweater itself sort of an oxymoron? Whatever, I still like it.  I dragged my my newly minted hubby to Urban Outfitters on our honeymoon in San Francisco in November to get it after seeing it in an email.  I had to wear a cami on this day, more work and weather appropriate (yet I let my toes hang out,) but with these high waisted pants from Harlyn, I would wear it without the cami (and not be heading to work.)
The pants, themselves are much more interesting in person.  Not only are they high waisted, but pleated and tapered as well.  The fabric is very silky too.  I actually wish they were even more tapered.  The details never show up well on black...

Welcome to 2014.  Any plans for the year ahead for you?

I Love This Sofa

I was flipping through the new Urban Outfitters catalog and came across this darling sleeper sofa, the Ava...

And the price is incredible! For only $699 (plus shipping,) you get quite a bit of good design for your dollar! Even though I would love it in white, (which it's not offered in but white is a really bad choice for me with pets anyway,) this is the perfect shade of green. It also comes in plum and grey. Here's a better look...

It doesn't work in my house at all but she's so pretty!

Anyway, you can see/order it here...

Closet Double Debut

I let my inner child talk me into a strawberry waffle today...

(Gratuitous food shot.) Oh local Pancake House, you make me wonder why I ever skip breakfast!

Anyway, this is sort of a double debut. I purchased this dress in June and posted it then, but have since shortened it. (Now that I look at the pictures, I'm wondering if I need to shorten the sleeves as well.) Since the weather is finally cooling down, today was the perfect day to finally wear it. I picture it with tights but it's still a little to warm for them...

I love the length now and I predict it will be on heavy rotation this winter. (Notice different background finally!)

Also making their first showing are these boots from Urban Outfitters...

I purchased them online last month but they are too big and I've been debating about whether or not to return them. The problem is, I have a really small foot (I ordered the smallest size,) and I really like them! But after playing around with various sock thickness I decided that they work too well with my closet, are very comfortable and I'd be back to hunting for a new pair of boots. So they're staying.

I've been shopping for autumn since June and I love that I can finally wear the things I've stashed away...like a squirrel...hiding nuts...hmmm...
