Snippet

Just a small snippet from life.  My form isn't perfect, and I never intended to post this but well, here it is anyway.
I was trying to set up my iPad to video one of my classes' recital dance - easier said than done.  Because the studio is so big and I was the only one in it, the music quality is not so great, but I am wearing what has come to be my summer uniform, a swingy tank from Sunday in Brooklyn and AG denim leggings.
I have seemed to collect a lot of tanks in this style this spring while waiting for the summer heat to hit.  And it finally has.
Recital time has come and gone and now I'm looking forward to teaching summer classes, which I love because it becomes experiment time for me and is less "formal" than regular classes,

What plans do you have for summer?

Making Shapes In My Closet

I've just spent my morning obsessing over the silhouettes of Rick Owens'

(photo via)
All of them, not just current seasons.  It made me realize how much I love shapes...sounds elementary, I know, but it co-relates it my background in dance.

Weirdly enough, I could spend hours contorting my body in the mirror, and studying the movements between each pose...anyway, inspired by Mr. Owens, I pulled out this sweater that I don't think I've worn for at least 2 years...

This Twinkle by Wenlan sweater reminds me of a spiderweb with it's loose knit but I also love the shape, with it's big cowl neck and dolman sleeves (although I realize that sometimes the details get lost in the black.  I'm ok with that.)

Worn with JBrand high waisted jeans and Wild Diva boots.

How does fashion influence other areas of your life?

Last Of The Warm Weather?

Well, a cold front has finally moved into central Texas last night and I can't tell you how lovely and crisp it feels! I know most of you have already been enjoying cooler weather for a while now and we have had lower temps as well but nothing this cold for a very long time! Hooray for fall and winter! That being said, I'm sure we'll still have plenty of days in the 70's and 80's but for now I'm celebrating.

Anyway, this is not what I'm currently wearing, but it's from earlier this week...

Silk Tunic from Lil
Sweater Vest from Moth/second hand
Leggings from ???
Shoes from Qupid

This is the perfect outfit for my busy days! I can go from work to the dance studio, (I teach dance as a second job,) do some grocery shopping and not look like I came directly from the gym. (I admit, I dress like the biggest slob when I'm on the treadmill, and only slightly better when I go to yoga, but that's a different post entirely!)

I kept my accessories minimal...

Purse from Walmart (years ago!)
Ring from Charming Charlie

When working with kids I try to be a little careful to not come off to "hard," but I love the edgy touches that they add! I couldn't resist!

Well, I guess I'll break out a sweater and pants today...I wonder how long it'll be before I start dreaming of summer again...

Tyson TV

So I watched this guy on public access tonight...you've got to check him out...www.howtodotherobot.com. Ok, so the ad is funny, but you can actually see him dance here.
(Click on the first screen on the left.) He's really good, you can also find him on youtube actually demonstrating how to do the robot.
Enjoy.
