Closet Reality-I'm Too Short For This Dress

So, it's interesting what a photograph actually shows you. (Mirrors lie.)   Like the fact that this dress isn't really doing me any favors...


  At least not at this length.You can't tell, (or maybe you can,) but the dress is pleated, which always adds a little extra at the waist and hips.  And combined with the length it makes me look a little dumpy frumpy...
So the question now is, do I shorten it?  I really do think that losing 3-4 inches might make all the difference but I really don't have the patience to alter pleats right now...Is it even worth the real estate in my closet?

So tell me, alter the dress and keep it or set it free to someone taller than me?

Anyway, I really like the old school Christian Lacroix broach that I'm wearing at my neck.  (Sorry about the poor photo quality!)  I received it a few years ago as a Christmas gift, and I don't wear it often enough!

Found In My Closet; Lots of Red Accessories

I say that I'm not really a "red" person. I only have a handful of shirts in the scarlet shade which usually only get pulled out when I haven't done laundry. But accessories are an entirely different story. You can almost always get away with a red purse (unless you're wearing something green,) and a little spot of it on your wrist, at your waist or feet or even on your nails goes a long way.



What can I say? I really like purses and handbags!

It just so happens that these red Christian Lacroix heels are my most favorite pair of shoes! And traveling with a red train case and matching cosmetic bag makes even a weekend get away a little more sexy.

Hmmm...I do have a bunch of vacation hours...

The Only Thing I Have In Common With Mary Kate Olsen

I just watched a show that didn't like the tiered Christian Lacroix dress that Mary Kate Olsen wore to the Costume Institute Gala last night...Why such a big dress on such a little frame?

I can tell you why...because in her mind she's 5'10" with legs that start below her armpits. How do I know? Because I suffer from the same affliction. Often I go into a store, pull on a dress that I think will be perfect only to find that if I purchase it, I'll be cutting off 6 inches. Why do you think 4 inch wedges are my comfy, casual shoes?

Anyway, I love the dress and I like how she looks in it...confident and happy and I know I'm repeating myself, but isn't that what a dress should do for a girl?

Quit picking on her.
